Summer 2021 Update

If you are just visiting campus to pick up a book and leave, you are welcome to do just that. However, if you are coming to the library to use a computer or study space, you must reserve this in advance AND follow campus safety protocols. Reserve a computer or study space by calling 253-566-5087 or emailing Once you reserve a spot, complete the steps outlined at the link below. Once you arrive on campus for your reservation, first check in at Building 14 before coming to the Library.

Summer 2021: Course reserves (Textbooks)

Textbooks and other material designated by the instructor for particular classes are available at the library.

If the library has a copy of the textbook for your class, you are currently able to check it out for a week at a time. This is at a first come, first serve basis; requests or holds cannot be placed on these items.

Note: Electronic reserves may be accessed through your Canvas classroom or your instructor's website.

Laptop rentals

Laptops can be checked out from the Library's Front Desk. ID is required for checkout. Acceptable forms of ID include TCC student ID, driver's license, or passport. Currently (Summer 2021), students may check out a laptop for the entire term. Call the Library before visiting to check on laptop availability: 253.566.5087

Computer use inside the library

Currently, there are 10 computers in the library for research, document production, and other college-related activity, accessed by reservation only for up to 2-hours at a time.

To use a computer, you must first reserve by emailling or calling during the library's open hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm (i.e. no walk-up computer use will be allowed).

  • Students can enter through the front doors of the Library and check in with the staff member at the front door
  • Students can reserve up to a 2-hour block per day. 
  • Staff will be cleaning computer spaces between each use.


  • Two computers are equipped with adaptive aids for the visually impaired.
  • Please see TCC Acceptable Use Policy (linked below) to ensure compliance.
Additional requirements:
  1. Everyone who has made a reservation for computer use are required to first go to Building 14 for a health screening and a wristband before they come to the Library.
  2. Everyone must complete the online health screening before you arrive onto campus, as described on the TCC Health Check page.
  3. Children are not permitted to accompany their parents for computer use. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Other equipment
  • All computers connect to printers and printing can be done in black and white or color.
  • Headphones are available for checkout at the Front Desk.

A wireless network is available in the library and on campus. All laptops and wireless devices can be connected to the network. Wireless printing works for some devices. If you have problems connecting to the wireless network please contact library staff.

Fees for overdue or lost books

We do not charge overdue fines. However, we do charge for lost materials. Any charges are placed on your ctcLink account.

  • Borrowers are responsible for all checked out items, including lost materials.
  • Borrowers will receive email reminders to their student email account for all overdue and lost items.
  • If an item is 21 days overdue, it becomes a "Lost" item. 
  • Lost material will be charged at the price of the item, plus a $5.00 processing fee for each charge.
  • Fees will be waived if overdue material is returned within the 1st week of the following quarter.
  • If the item is found and returned within one year after a payment is made, the library will refund the price of the item (but not the $5 processing fee/s).
