Books & Ebooks
Books are a great resource for historical topics. The books in the library's collection talk about specific topics, often in great detail or depth, and many books also house primary source documents, such as images and entries from original letters, diaries, and other primary source documents.
Search the catalog for Print books
Use the library library catalog below to search for print books (books inside the library), or ebooks (books inside the library's databases that can be accessed remotely at any time).

Search for eBooks
While the catalog linked above does allow you to access many ebooks in the library's collection, you can also search directly within the ebook databases linked below.

Over 180,000 electronic books, with broad coverage on academic topics. Viewable with your web browser; also downloadable to e-readers or e-reader apps with some restrictions. - eBook Collection (EBSCO) This link opens in a new window
Over 200,000 electronic books, covering a large selection of multidisciplinary academic subjects. Books can be read through a web browser or downloaded.
Search Tips
- Type in your keywords in the search box and click the "Search" button
- Take note of the format of the results. You can narrow down to print books or e-books by clicking one of the boxes.
- Take note of the publication date range. You can narrow down results to a specific data range.
- Click the title of the book for more detailed info
- Take note of the format of the book. An e-book will have an "E" icon; a print book will have a book icon.
- If it's an e-book, then you can click the "Electronic access" link to read the book online.
- You can also text any book record to yourself.
