Signing Up for a Pierce County Library System Card

There are two ways to access Pierce County Library System resources. Both are outlined in detail just below. Follow these step-by-step instructions to easily sign up for a Pierce County Library System card!

Signing Up for an eCard:

With a Pierce County Library System eCard you can access online databases, checkout ebooks and audiobooks, download magazines, and place holds on physical library items. Apply for a Pierce County Library System eCard by filling out an online application here:

The application asks you to provide:

  • Your email
  • Your full name
  • Your address (to verify you are within the area served by the Pierce County Library System)
  • Your phone number
  • Your date of birth
  • Your choice of branch location

As long as you are on a webpage with a web address that begins with "piercecountylibrary.org," it is safe to provide this information!

Signing Up for a Physical Library Card

You can sign up for a physical library card by visiting any Pierce County Library System location and telling a librarian you'd like to sign up for a card. You can fill out an application at the library or you can print out the application form at home, fill it out, and bring it to any Pierce County Library System location. You can access the application form here:

You will need to bring a photo ID with your name and address. If you recently moved to the area and your current photo ID does not reflect an address in Pierce County, bring another document (such as a piece of mail addressed to you at a Pierce County address) with you when you go to sign up. Find a Pierce County Library location convenient to you here:
