Why use audio or video sources?
They:
Rely on non-fiction audio and video, such as documentaries, interviews, lectures...
Search the Library Catalog for DVDs and VHS tapes that are available in the library.
Log in to the TCC Portal > Library 'Quick Link' > Library Catalog tab then...
click on the 'Film' link to seach DVD/VHS subjects or titles. (All video must be used inside the library.)
DOCUMENTARIES are non-fiction films and programs about real life people and events. These can be fantastic sources of information for your research!
To start, try these websites:
Frontline (from PBS) - documentaries on a variety of political and social topics. Use search box in upper right-hand corner.
Nova (from PBS) - documentaries on a variety of science and technology issues
Moving Image Archive (from archive.org) - thousands of archived films and news footage. Great for historical research.
Some sources for RADIO PROGRAMS or PODCASTS (usually recorded talks or lectures)
NPR (National Public Radio) - listen to radio programs about topics in the news and arts
Academic Earth - online lectures on many subject areas from university professors around the world
TED - a clearinghouse that offers free lectures from inspired thinkers from the arts to science to politics
