Featured open access
You can also search the open access database DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals for free to access teaching and learning articles, including great journals like Educause Review.

- Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)Quality-controlled scientific and scholarly open-access journals, covering a wide range of subjects and many languages. The aim of the DOAJ is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals.
Setting up notifications
Create a journal alert to receive email notifications
You can also set up a "journal alert." This means that you set up a notification by email whenever new content from a specific journal is available in the database. The email links directly to articles within the publication.
This is a great feature although a little cumbersome to set up. If you need help doing this, please contact a librarian.
Search Periodicals A-Z
Searching for journals & other periodicals
If you're looking to see if the library subscribes to a certain publication, you can easily find out by searching the "Periodicals A-Z" option, linked on the menu of the library website.
Follow the instructions below or ask a librarian for help.
Search Steps
- Click on "Periodicals A-Z" on the library's homepage, or use the link below.
- Periodicals A-ZClick this link to see if the TCC Library has online or full-text access to a specific periodical (newspaper, magazine, or journal).
- Search for a publication using the title, part of the title or topic, or the ISSN number as shown in the image below

- If your search yields results, you will then see the dates which TCC has a full-text subscription for the publication, as well as which database(s) the publication is housed/can be accessed. Use the link provided.

Search by keyword/topic across journal literature
Browsing literature
Let's say you're more interested in searching a particular topic, not necessarily in a specific journal. Here's an example: I'm interested in finding journal literature about the importance of critical reading skills in higher education science curriculum.
