Searching the HIM Body of Knowledge

Once you are in the website you can:

  • Search the whole BoK by using the quick search box, which is located in the upper-right corner.
  • Go straight to the advanced search page (the link is in the menu at the top of the screen) if you are looking for something specific
  • Browse the most recently published content in some of AHIMA’s current focus areas, featured in the middle of the page. Here are the current focus areas:

  • Browse all BoK topics by clicking Topics in the menu at the top of the screen.
  • View recently added items in the BoK.
  • View recently added items to some of our most frequently accessed resources, like journal articles, practice briefs and toolkits, using the links under popular resources near the bottom of the page.
  • Log into and out of the site.
  • Navigate to ahima.org, the AHIMA web store, Engage, myAHIMA, or contact AHIMA for more help.

  • Proceedings from AHIMA's Annual Convention & Exhibit;
  • many AHIMA Advantage articles published since January 2002;
  • AHIMA practice briefs, **recently updated practice briefs**, toolkits, position statements, reports, guidelines and white papers, leadership models, job descriptions, & other Association information;
  • House of Delegates resolutions;
  • government publications such as parts of the Federal Register and DHHS documents; and
  • resources to help you prepare for ICD-10-CM/PCS.
