Integrating Library Resources into Canvas

This guide is a step-by-step how-to on embedding TCC Library resources into Canvas courses.

Films on Demand

Follow the step-by-step instructions below, complete with illustrative screenshots in order to embed videos from Films on Demand (FOD) into Canvas pages.

  • First, open or create the Canvas page in which you'll be embedding video content.
  • Then, open the page for the Films on Demand content you'll be embedding. 
  • Once you have identified the video you'll be embedding and have opened the corresponding webpage, locate the "Share" button directly below the video window:

  • Click the Share button. From the options presented, click "Embed/Link" and then copy the text under the "Embed Code" section:

  • Once you have copied the embed code, toggle to your Canvas page, and click the "Edit" button. Once the text box is open, click the cloud icon on the upper righthand side of the top menu bar:

  • Clicking the cloud icon will open up an empty text box labeled "Embed." Paste the embed code you copied from Films on Demand in the empty text box:

  • Hit submit and your video will embed! Please be sure to include a citation for the video you have embedded to be in accordance with Copyright Law and best practices for fair use.

  • Finally, be sure to hit save!
