Google search tips for finding government sites/programs

Government websites (.gov)

Government sites (at the federal, state, and county level) can provide statistics and reliable information about some topics. 

Limit your search to only government websites by using "site:.gov" as part of your search string. (Note that there is no space before or after the colon.)

Here's is an example of what you would type into a Google search bar:

homeless programs tacoma site:.gov

► This search uses keywords to find info about local or county government programs to help homeless populations
