For your Identity Project PowerPoint presentation you will need to cite your sources. To cite your sources means that you will need to include information about where you found your sources. You will cite your sources in MLA citation style. See the boxes to the right to learn more about MLA citation. 

• Textual (written) sources need to be cited on the Works Cited page at the end of the PowerPoint presentation. 
• Pictures need to be cited in two places:

1. As a caption under the picture.

2. On the Works Cited page. 

To cite your image within the PowerPoint presentation, include a caption underneath the picture. There are two parts to include:

1. Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3, etc. 

2. Title of the picture in quotation marks.

Example: 

Fig. 1 "Fetching Water"

Here is the format for citing an image on the Works Cited page.

Creator last name       First name        Title of image (in quotation marks)

Accessed Date 

*If there is no creator listed, begin with title. 

*If there is no date, use n.d. (for "no date).
