Interlibrary loan (ILL)

The joy of interlibrary loan (ILL)

Few libraries have it all! Interlibrary loan is a tried and true method of getting users in touch with information not available at their home library.

As we saw in our session, sometimes it's great to take that "full text" limiter off when searching databases just to see what's "out there." This search strategy, in combination with interlibrary loan, is a great way to access that perfect resource that we don't happen to hold.

Any way that you come across a book or journal article that the TCC Library does not hold, you can make an ILL request. Please allow 7 to 14 days.

Google Scholar

A possible alternative to "interlibrary loan!" Try out Google Scholar first, just to make sure that book or article isn't hanging around out there somewhere for free!
