Using Print & eBooks

Once you've found general, background information on your topic, it's time to find more in-depth information. One way is to find books that you can check out at the TCC Library. You can search the library catalog for books by doing a keyword search (e.g., literacy, or emotional intelligence) by clicking the link(s) below.

Why use books in your research?

open book iconWhy Use Books?

The Library holds many print books and electronic books (e-books) on your topic. Books are good for providing more in-depth information or putting the issue in context but be sure to check how current the information is.

Research Tip With Books:

Unless assigned, you don't have to read the whole book when using them for research purposes, just the chapters and pages that are relevant to your topic. Use the table of contents or the index at the back of the book to help you find relevant chapters or pages.
