History of Astronomy

This guide is for student studying the history of Astronomy. In it you will find:

  • tips for finding reliable information through the TCC Library and its databases, including periodical articles, film, reference, and books
  • tips for searching the "free" Web,
  • citing your sources,
  • and finding openly licensed images for your research-based projects.

Online Library help

Your TCC Research Librarians are working fully online for Fall 2020 quarter.

We offer online Research Help chat with TCC Librarians during our pre-Covid on-campus hours, and off-hours chat with non-TCC librarians! That adds up to 24 hours of research help online!

On campus Library services

Spring term 2021: The Library is open for in-person services on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Library services include the following checkout services. 

  • To checkout technology, such as laptops, calculators (laptops check out for the entire term)
  • To checkout textbook reserves (reserve books check out for a week at a time)
  • To checkout books from the main collections (checkout period is usually 3 weeks)
  • To checkout molecular kits (check out for the entire term) 
  • To checkout water quality test kits (2-day checkout)
  • To checkout Math 131/132 Manipulative kits (check out for the entire term)
  • To checkout Anthropology kits - ANTH 237 (2-week checkout) 

Students can also do the following:

  • Reserve a computer to use in the Library at least one day in advance
  • Reserve an individual study space at least one day in advance
