The Bloom's Literary Reference database is a great resource for finding biographical information. To search, enter the name of the writer in the search box and click the search icon.

Biography Reference Center
Biography Reference Center is a database that specializes in providing information about the lives of notable people. Just enter the first and last name of your chosen author into the search box and click search.

Finding biographical information in the TCC Library catalog
E-books are a great place to find information on your chosen Russian writer!
To search the catalog:
1. Enter the author's first and last name into the search box and click "search."
NOTE: Be sure to put quotation marks around the first and last name as this will "glue" the names together in that exact order.
Example: "Nikolai Gogol"
2. To search for e-books, select "e-books" on the left side of the page under "Format." See the box below to learn how to access e-books.
3. Select "biography" under "Subject."
Accessing e-books
If you use the catalog, some of the items listed will be electronic books (e-books). These books can be read with any web browser -- no need to download an e-reader app!
An e-book record looks like this:
- Each e-book has an "E" symbol beside the "Format" heading.
- Read the e-books online by clicking the link at the bottom of the record, under the "Electronic access" heading.
Note that if you may need to log-in to read the e-book online. If a log-in screen pops up, then use the same username and password you use to log into the MyTCC portal.
