Movement/Moment PechaKucha assignment

The following are excerpts from your research project description (the higlighting is from your librarian to emphasize the research requirements); find the complete assignment description attached to the bottom of this box. Please ask Professor Gugliotti if you have questions about the assignment itself.


From the Preparation section of your assignment:

SELECT your art movement or moment from the list. You may also propose a topic. You should choose 2-3 so we can make sure we don’t have repeats.

DECIDE how you will cite your sources and cite as you go. You must have at least 3 sources cited and these must be [reliable, trustworthy] sources such as articles, books, dedicated websites, not Wikipedia or AI articles.

RESEARCH the art movement or moment to gather material for your presentation.

  • What is happening in history at the moment?
  • Who are the key players and/or circumstances central to this moment? (they may be individual artists, political figures and/or historical events. ·
  • Select 2-3 works that represent the movement and tell us about them. This will include a short description and critical analysis. You should explain why they represent this movement or moment.

SELECT YOUR 20 images and script your presentation.

NOTE: This is a research project and citing your sources is required [use MLA style; see the "MLA citations" tab above for guidance]. Please use your own voice and as always, don’t plagiarize. Images of your chosen works should be included [in your list of citations].
