Scholarships are FREE MONEY FOR SCHOOL that are offered by private foundations, companies, and individuals. The great thing about scholarships is that you don't have to pay the money back, as long as you follow the rules of the scholarship!
There are thousands of scholarships out there. Many of them are aimed at students who are first-generation college students, or who are from a particular ethnic background, or who are interested in particular careers.

Don't apply for any scholarship that asks for your credit card number, or that charges you money to apply. Below is a great page of information about how to avoid scholarship scams.
